At McMurray Builders, we like to be involved from the beginning, either with lot selection or at the design stage.

The Building Overview

 

 

Your builder is someone you will be working closely with for months. Selecting the right builder for you is an important decision, one you approach with as much care as choosing your own personal physician. Before building begins, Custom Builders ensures your future satisfaction with a Custom Builders Customer Notebook containing everything you need to monitor the detailed process of creating your new home. This includes:

  • a copy of your building agreement
  • budget information
  • your building schedule
  • your construction specifications
  • a summary of selections you have made
  • requirement dates for selections yet to be made

You can also be confident that Custom Builders will professionally handle the changes you want to make along the way. We provide monthly budget variance reports comparing actual costs to budgeted costs so you can see where you stand on your project.

Building Steps
Planning Once a lot is selected, the design process begins.  Greg has designed many of the homes he built and can design a house that not only meets the owners requests, but also will take into consideration the lot slope, sun exposure and location of the future home.  If you have an architect or have a house plan in mind, he will work with you closely to make sure that the plan will work with the building lot. With our many years experience in the real estate industry, we can provide valuable re-sale information in case you decide to sell in the future. 

We begin at this stage determining a cost estimate, time frame and a plan.

Building Now that the plans are approved, we begin the excavation and framing phase.  At Custom Builders we use only the highest quality subcontractors and are on-site daily to oversee the project.  During this stage, we meet several times to discuss the electrical, plumbing, windows, trim, cabinetry, appliances and floor coverings. 
 

 
Finishes After the home has been insulated, the plumbing and electrical installed and the drywall finished, we are at the Finishing stage.  This is the what everyone will see - the finish work (cabinetry, trim, tile, flooring, paint, plumbing and lighting fixtures and appliances).  It all comes together - it's an exciting step for you.  Everything should be as you visualized. 
 

 
Walkthrough Together, you and I will walk through your new home.  If something needs attention, we will take care of it, before you move in.

And as always, you will be given a 2 year home warranty!
